e-mu 0404 usb control panel won’t display on windows 7 and the default 48KHz issue.

November 5th, 2009 @biophonc

Since a few months I had the very strange issue that the default samplerate is 48KHz which caused me to set it manualy each time I wanted to play “normal” encoded audio. When I upgraded to windows 7 the control panel stopped displaying. It launches correctly when windows starts but it won’t open the control panel when i click it – and it’s strangely enough to mention that the pane preview works fine. Since I am listnen to music primary via winamp, I could work around the samplerate issue via the out_aiso plugin, so that I can listnen to music again.

However, the disappearing of the control panel “on screen” can be eventually solved if you do the following very few steps:

  • close the control panel
  • open up rededit
  • navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Creative Professional\E-MU USB Audio Control Panel
  • delete the following entries: “WindowX”, “WindowY”
  • launch the CP again and you will see it again ;)

The golden age of rap

how cool is that video!

April 3rd, 2008 @biophonc

I’ve found this one by accident, when a friend showed me a video of Paul Anka, because she was on his concert this evening. I really love this video of Rita Pavone. I’ve never heard of her before and most of her songs I’ve now discovered belong to a very different generation but this one is a timeless and very positive, funny whatsoever one. I must admit, I do not understand much but that doesn’t matter. … So here it is: »my name is potato«

a mindless day and a sound from the blues of the future

February 22nd, 2008 @biophonc

That means: I am feeling fine, besides the feeling, being drugged with fatigue. It was a hard and long week and I am really happy to have the spare time to relax now. Sebastian, from Areal Records, for whom I and Jaana make his website, came for a visit today and gave me some of their releases, in exchange to Marcel’s and my Demo-CD. And I have to admit – I am really surprised about Ada’s sound. I really like it. It has a good mood, spreads a warm and gentle feeling and make me feel comfortable. I mean the Blondix 2 release, with Erlend Øye.

Marcel finally have his first release on iconise with a remix of Tala’s »Mandragora« and if everything works out fine, he’ll release his second tune on iconise aswell and if I can manage my spare time better, I’ll do a remix. However, I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it. I’ve already started »something«, but it sounds to overloaded and ordinary.

But it is Friday and some people might suggest to do party, get wasted and at least stay not at home but I really enjoy the peace of being alone today. There’s no need for me today to go excited. I am at peace with my own state of mind and looking forward to see my girl tomorrow, meet her sister for the first time and Nina again (she is a very kind person and before she goes back to São Paulo), wake up not to late and maybe find some interesting ad for a new flat for Steffi and me.

I should go to sleep soon – but I guess I’ll have one more beer and then….. ;)

battles concert in berlin

August 15th, 2007 @biophonc

Wow – that was a great show and an interesting audience. I’ve never ever saw so much different people from different countries with different styles on a concert. From Drum and Bass Heads, Metal rocker, Electro scene, Emos, Punks, Spanish, British, American, French and so on to freaks like me. However: It was hot in any case and nearly everyone was wet to the skin and the ex Helmet funky drummer, John Stainer, kicked their asses. Battles are a must see dedicated live band and the only thing which sucked was the non-existent air condition.

I’ve took some photos with a Nokia mobile phone from behind the speakers but my photos can’t express how great it was because it was simply put fucking awesome.

kids like the rape me song

April 30th, 2007 @biophonc

There’s a little party in our backyard, where some sort of social, welfare, youth club, kindergarden, i-don-t-know-what-it-is something like that and a band with a female lead covers the nirvana track »rape me« and I really don’t know if the people do understand what this means. I mean – I am located in Berlin, Germany. Imagine your child sings »rape me« all the time – you wouldn’t like it! I’ve recorded it and so you can listening to this »wonderful« rape me in my backyard song ;)
